To have hope is to have confidence in the future, no matter the present. It is an expectation of something to come, something that is fulfilling, something that is better, something that gives light and life.
To lose hope is to despair. It is to project onto the future the pain and emptiness of the past...or the present. And for that reason, in a very real sense, to despair is to die.
To hope is courageous. To hope is to cultivate community, as it can be shared. To hope is to experience the divine life.
What do you hope for? How can you guard hope in your heart? To whom can you bring hope today?
