Some people try to avoid failure by living safely. They are so afraid to fail at something that they never try.
The irony, of course, is that never trying is itself failing––failure to take a risk, failure to seize an opportunity to grow, failure to learn something new about oneself, or the world.
Perseverance, though, requires wresting through failure––or the sense of failure. It takes mental and physical stamina. It takes focus. It requires strategy, sweat, and setting goals. It's hard work.
But the reward is knowing this: "I have what it takes, and no one can take it away."
What have you always wanted to try but have been held back by fear of failure? How can you start working toward it today?
